CRV (California Redemption Value) Buy Back Centers
These sites are certified by the state to buy back beverage containers on which the consumer has paid a deposit. Effective January 1, 2010, CRV is 5¢ on containers less than 24 ounces, 10¢ on containers 24 ounces or greater.The state has set an equivalent per pound buy back rate on all CRV containers.
Beverage containers include aluminum cans, bi-metal cans, glass bottles,
and #1 through #7 plastic bottles. A containers must be labeled CRV or CA
Cash Refund.
Beverages INCLUDED are beer, malt beverages, wine coolers, distilled
spirit coolers, carbonated and noncarbonated fruit drinks, carbonated and
noncarbonated water, carbonated and noncarbonated mineral water, coffee,
tea, carbonated and noncarbonated soft drinks, vegetable juice and sport
drinks.
Beverages EXCLUDED are milk, wine, liquor, medical food, nutritional
supplements, infant formula. Also excluded are vegetable juice in
containers greater than 16 ounces and 100% fruit juice in containers 46
ounces or greater.
